Current Volunteer Opportunities
Meals on Wheels and Nourish Drivers
We are in search of dedicated volunteer drivers for our Meals on Wheels and Nourish programs to provide essential meal deliveries to homebound older adults and individuals facing chronic health challenges.
We have both morning (9:00 am to 12:00 pm) and afternoon (1:00 pm to 4:00 pm) routes available on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays, each requiring approximately 3 hours of your time.
Mileage reimbursement is available to support your commitment to making a positive impact in our community.
Join us in ensuring that nutritious meals reach those in need, contributing to their well-being and fostering a sense of care and connection.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old and have had your license for a minimum of two years.
A valid California Driver’s License and a clear DMV report are needed, as well as a reliable vehicle and proof of auto insurance.
CarePool Drivers
CarePool driver volunteers provide free rides for older adults to crucial medical appointments, pharmacy visits, and grocery shopping, using their own vehicles.
Choose from flexible shifts Monday – Friday, with three-hour blocks available:
- 8:00 am to 11:00 am
- 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
- 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Each round trip typically takes 2–3 hours, so we kindly request a minimum commitment of one three-hour shift per week. Your time can make a significant difference in someone’s life!
Requirements: A valid California Driver’s License, a clean DMV report, a reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance are needed.
A Matter of Balance (AMoB) Volunteer Instructor
We are currently seeking dedicated volunteer instructors for our A Matter of Balance (AMoB) classes. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative two-hour sessions once a week over the course of eight weeks.
A Matter of Balance is designed to empower older adults in overcoming the fear of falling. As an instructor, you will play a crucial role in promoting increased activity levels, advocating for small modifications to minimize fall risks at home, and imparting valuable knowledge on effective exercises to enhance strength and balance.

A Matter of Balance Instructors have specific schedules for the 8-week class:
- 8 hours of training (prior to first class)
- 16 hours of classroom instruction (8 weeks, once per month for 2 hours)
Brown Bag Pantry
Every year, Marin residents pick up 135,000 pounds of healthy groceries free of charge through our Brown Bag Pantry. In this role you will be serving a vulnerable part of our community who most likely deal with food insecurities. You play an important role in making them feel welcomed, engaged, and comfortable.
Weekly on Fridays, 9:30 am- 12:00 pm
Bingocize Volunteer Instructor
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteer instructors to take the lead in our Bingocize classes.
Bingocize is a unique health promotion program that blends the joy of bingo with fall prevention exercises. As a volunteer instructor, you will contribute to empowering older adults by guiding them through gentle seated and standing exercises, games of bingo, and tips to prevent falls.
Join us in making a positive impact on the well-being of our community’s older adults through this evidenc-based, falls prevention program!
Bingosize Instructors have specific schedules for the 10 week class:
- 1-Hour of training (prior to the first class)
- 20 hours of classroom instruction (10 weeks, twice per week for one hour)
Vivalon Café
Join our Cafe Volunteer team and help us provide a welcoming environment and serve delicious and Nutritious meals to the community we serve.
Cashier
- The cashier operates the point of sale system, using an ipad tablet and square card reader. This position requires either standing or sitting at the front counter. Being able to handle cash and counting is essential.
Server
- Cafe Servers provide a crucial link between kitchen staff and clients. You will assist people to their tables and serve them a meal. This position includes bussing tables and helping with cleaning dishes as well as learning important food safety skills.
Shifts Available:
- Monday-Friday, 10:30am – 2:00pm
- We request that you commit to one shift per week for the full duration of the shift.
