Growing old is a beautiful journey, full of laughter and learning, and meeting wonderful people like Anna and Ruth, some of Vivalon’s amazing members.
102-year-old Anna has been a part of Vivalon since the 1980s. Her spirit and zest for life are inspiring! Reflecting on her journey with us, she says, “Vivalon is amazing; I still can’t get over it. If it hadn’t been for Vivalon, I think I would have been lost to a certain extent because my family, they have their own life to live, and I have more independence.”
Like Anna, Ruth found solace in the Vivalon community after her husband’s passing. What initially was an attempt to remain active by joining our classes turned into a beautiful bond of friendships. “Having new friends when you’re old—that’s exciting!” she shares joyfully.
Heartfelt stories like these encapsulate what Vivalon aims to offer – a community that does much more than merely provide services. It is our shared responsibility as community members to ensure our older generation is not secluded.
