As we reflect on the past year, we’re grateful for the people, partnerships, and shared commitment that make Vivalon’s work possible every day. Every ride, every meal, every class, and every friendly conversation reflects a simple promise at the heart of our mission: no one should age alone.
Our 2024–2025 Gratitude Report offers a snapshot of what that promise looks like in action across Marin County. Together, these moments add up to something powerful—older adults and people with disabilities living with greater dignity, purpose, and connection.

So much has been accomplished this year, and yet we know many older adults are facing growing uncertainty. Rising costs for food, rent, and medications continue to strain fixed incomes, and potential cuts to programs like Meals on Wheels, SNAP, and Medicaid add to that concern. As a result, more people are turning to Vivalon—for nourishment, transportation, and the social connection that keeps loneliness and isolation from becoming life-threatening.
What makes Vivalon extraordinary is not just our programs, but the people who bring them to life. Members, participants, volunteers, staff, and supporters all play a role in creating a community rooted in empathy and care. For many, Vivalon is more than a place or a service—it’s a lifeline.
One member, Ines, shared it best:
“Vivalon has given me an extended family. We look out for each other, console each other, and enjoy time together. I have a new life—at 82!”
Stories like Ines’s are made possible through the collective support of this community.
As the year comes to a close, there are many ways to stay connected to Vivalon’s work—by participating in programs, volunteering, sharing our story, or, for those who are able, making a year-end donation. Every contribution, in whatever form it takes, helps ensure that no older adult in Marin is left hungry, isolated, or forgotten.

At Vivalon, we believe aging should be defined by dignity, opportunity, and community—not isolation. As we look ahead, our vision is both bold and deeply local: a Marin where every older adult has the support and connection they need to live fully and independently. Aging touches every family and every neighborhood, and by working together, we can ensure care and connection are within reach for all—today and for generations to come.
Thank you for being part of the Vivalon community and for helping make dignity, connection, and care possible for so many.
