Champions Week:
Leaders Delivering
More Than Meals

During Champions Week, elected officials join Vivalon staff and volunteers to deliver meals to older adults and homebound neighbors across Marin—seeing firsthand the impact of nutrition services in their community.

A Week of Hands-On Community Leadership

Champions Week brings elected officials into the community, where they join meal delivery routes and meet the residents who depend on daily nutrition services.

This experience highlights the essential role of home-delivered meals in supporting health, independence, and dignity for older adults and individuals with disabilities in Marin.

Highlights from Champions Week

Day 1

Champions Week kicked off with Congressman Jared Huffman, San Anselmo Mayor Steve Burdo, and Fairfax Mayor Stephanie Hellman joining Vivalon meal delivery routes across Marin. Alongside staff and volunteers, they delivered meals, met recipients, and experienced firsthand how nutrition services provide nourishment, connection, and support to older adults and people with disabilities.

Day 2

We continued the momentum with Marin County Supervisor Eric Lucan, Marin County Supervisor Mary Sackett, and San Rafael Councilmember Rachel Kertz. Alongside staff and volunteers, they delivered meals, met recipients, and experienced firsthand how nutrition services help older adults and people with disabilities remain healthy, independent, and connected to their community.
