Parking Information

We understand that parking is an important consideration. At our new Healthy Aging Campus, Vivalon members and volunteers have several parking options, including on-street meters, off-street lots, and City garages. We want to ensure you have convenient and affordable parking choices:

  1. On-street meters: $1.50 per hour
  2. Off-street lots (metered & un-metered): $0.75 per hour
  3. A Street & C Street garages: $1.00 per hour ($10 maximum)

On-street meters and lots are enforced from Mon-Sat, 8 am – 6 pm (with the Walgreens lot extending to 8 pm).

City garages (A & C streets) are enforced Mon-Fri, 6 am – 11 pm

Parking on weekends is free!

Paying for parking is easy. You can pay when leaving the C Street Garage and A Street Garage. Alternatively, for added convenience, you can pay when parking using the ParkMobile app at specific locations, including 3rd and B Street, 3rd and Lootens Street, Walgreens, and 3rd and Cijos Street. Credit/debit cards and coins are also still accepted at parking meters and off street lots.

Yes, absolutely! We value our members and appreciate the dedication of our volunteers. As of January 2, 2024, Vivalon will offer parking validation tickets for the A and C Street City Garages. The A Street Garage is located on A Street between Third and Fourth Street. The C Street Garage is located on C Street between Third and Fourth Street. As a member, you can receive 1 or 2 hours of free parking based on your membership level. Volunteers will enjoy 2 hours of free parking.

Parking validation is a great way to save on parking expenses. Each time a member or volunteer visits the Healthy Aging Campus, they will receive a validation ticket at the Guest Services desk for use in the City garages. Given that the current garage parking rate is $1 per hour, this represents significant savings.

Absolutely, click here for a map of parking options near the Healthy Aging Camps. We will also have copies of the parking map available at our Guest Services desk.

Absolutely, parking validation cards valid at A and C Street parking garages are available with each visit to the Healthy Aging Campus. Please note that volunteers are not required to become members to receive parking validation. We want to make parking as convenient as possible for everyone.

For Our Volunteers

At Vivalon, volunteers are the heart and soul of our mission, and their invaluable contributions are continuing to make the Healthy Aging Campus feel like home for Marin seniors. Just as they always have, volunteers play an integral role in delivering key services, including the Brown Bag Pantry, Vivalon Café, Resource Office, Guest Services, as class instructors and more.

Vivalon Café

Vivalon is proud to introduce our new Vivalon Café. This modern and welcoming space is committed to offering delicious affordable meals for our members and the community. Open all day with lunch served from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Our new Vivalon Café embodies a fresh vision and renewed atmosphere. To resonate with its new menu and extended hours, we felt it warranted a new name to reflect its new ambience and location. We want our loyal patrons to know that we cherish the memories and associations with the Jackson Café, and we will still continue our monthly special events.

Our new building will have a warming kitchen rather than a full commercial kitchen. A warming kitchen is designed for the preparation but not cooking of meals, food needs to arrive fully cooked and ready to serve. We are partnering with Community Action Marin (CAM), a local nonprofit, to prepare and deliver a full menu of delicious freshly prepared hot entrees, sandwiches, salads, and soups. With CAM, we aim to provide a range of delightful offerings that maintain the quality our community has come to expect. We’re excited about this collaboration and confident in the value it will bring.

Not at all. While the cafe might have a new name, look and food service, our commitment to providing an outstanding experience for our members and the community remains unwavering. Different doesn’t mean lesser; in fact, we believe our changes make it even better. While our new cafe is designed to be different and improved, it’s crafted with the same heart and spirit that our members and guests have always loved. Our focus remains on their experiences. We have considered feedback, studied evolving preferences, and worked diligently to ensure the new cafe exceeds expectations in ambiance, offerings, and service.

When we open the new cafe on January 2, 2024, it will start with lunch from Monday to Friday, 11:30am to 1:45pm. The plan is to expand service during the first 3 months to include light morning and afternoon fare. The café space will remain open during business hours (Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm) as a gathering space for members and guests.

The Jackson Café at 930 Tamalpais will close on Friday December 22, 2023.

Absolutely. Volunteers are vital to serving fresh affordable meals to seniors in Marin, and while the cafe is new, the need for volunteers remains unchanged. We welcome current and new volunteers to join us in support of this transition to serve healthy delicious meals.

Our new kitchen is not a complete commercial kitchen, which has led to a change in our food service provider needs. Stacy Scott Catering has been a valuable partner for years and we are deeply grateful for their dedication and service. It’s not a goodbye. Our relationship with Stacy Scott and her team is cherished, and we look forward to potential collaborations with our dear friend in the future. Stacy is looking forward to continuing with her successful catering business and philanthropy.

We understand that change can be challenging, but we’re excited for the future of Vivalon Café and our continued dedication to serving our community.
