Monthly Food Boxes for Older Adults

Vivalon participates in the Federal Supplemental Food Program, available to certain low-income older adults. Participants in this program receive boxes of 30 to 35 pounds of food that include a variety of quality items. The Supplemental Food Program is designed to serve those individuals who do not participate in the WIC food stamp program.

This program is still in operation during the COVID-19 pandemic, third Wednesday of the month, 9:30am – 12:30pm

Please come to the Vivalon parking lot at the corner of Third and Tamalpais in downtown San Rafael on the third Wednesday of the month, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, for registration and food box pickup. 

Frequently asked questions:

If you live in Marin, are 60 years or older, and your income is below 130% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, you may be eligible for the Supplemental Food Program.

Come to the Vivalon parking lot at the corner of Third and Tamalpais in downtown San Rafael on the third Wednesday of the month to sign up. You will need an original form of ID and proof of residency. The Food Bank staff will ask you about your income to verify eligibility, but proof of income is not required. For more information, please call 2-1-1 for a 24/7 response.

Every third Wednesday of the month from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm.

This program is free for those who qualify.
