Adopting the Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center
Vivalon, (formerly Whistlestop) has exciting news to share! Effective Monday, November 7, Vivalon is adopting the Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center. We welcome all of our friends in the community to continue to enjoy both virtual and in-person classes and activities, from watercolors and acrylics to chair yoga to Mahjongg.
“Vivalon has been a valued community partner in serving older adults here in Marin, and we are so delighted that they are adopting some of the AFIC’s most sought-after classes,” stated Carla Condon, Co-Founder of the Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center. “This is a win-win for our friends who have come to look forward to many of our weekly classes, with a transition that will be as seamless as possible.”
Anne Grey, Vivalon’s CEO added, “The adoption of the Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center and addition of the five classes will expand our already vibrant offering of age-friendly programs and provide more opportunities for intergenerational engagement. We are excited to open our doors, both literally and virtually to welcome AFIC class instructors and participants to the Vivalon family.”
In-person Mahjongg and Chair Yoga with Weights at the Healthy Aging Center will continue as scheduled. Zoom classes for Chair Yoga with Weights, Watercolors and Acrylics with Debra will transition to Vivalon Zoom links.
For full details, please refer to the new schedule here.
Funding for this program is made available, at least in part, by the Marin County Area Agency on Aging.
At this time, a few AFIC classes will be discontinued. We encourage you to visit us at Vivalon.org for updated classes, programming, special events and more.
