On February 28, Vivalon’s community gathered for our 4th Annual Soirée d’Élégance. It was an evening that celebrated compassion, connection, and the belief that no one should have to age alone.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our supporters—and a remarkable $500,000 matching gift from Presenting Sponsor Vickie Soulier—we raised over $1.1 million, making it the most impactful Soirée in Vivalon’s history.
More than a milestone moment, the evening was a powerful reflection of the kind of community so many of us hope to build: one rooted in compassion, care, and a shared commitment to ensuring older adults can age with dignity and belonging.
Honoring Leadership and Service
During the evening, Vivalon recognized individuals whose leadership and compassion have strengthened our work in profound ways.
Erika Vaughn, Vivalon’s Home Delivered Services Manager, received the Vickie Soulier Healthy Aging Champion Award for her dedication to ensuring older adults receive nutritious meals, safety checks, and meaningful human connection through Vivalon’s nutrition programs.

We also honored Susan and Dennis Gilardi with the Transformational Philanthropist Award in recognition of their extraordinary generosity and longstanding commitment to strengthening Marin’s nonprofit community. Their leadership and generosity reflect the spirit of service that continues to inspire others to support and uplift their neighbors.

The Power of Connection
Guests were also deeply moved by the story of Gerry and Jack, whose friendship began through Vivalon’s Meals on Wheels program.
What started as a simple meal delivery became something much more: a moment of connection that grew into a lasting friendship. Their story is a powerful reminder that Vivalon’s services provide more than nourishment. They create moments of dignity, belonging, and human connection for older adults who might otherwise face isolation.

Supporting Healthy Aging Across Marin
The Soirée marks an important milestone not only in Vivalon’s history, but in Marin’s longstanding tradition of caring for older adults.
Every dollar raised through the evening directly supports Vivalon’s programs that bring nourishment, mobility, learning opportunities, and meaningful human connection to older adults and people with disabilities throughout Marin County.
It is the belief and generosity of those who envision a stronger, more compassionate community that make this work possible.
