Meet Michele

Healthy Aging Program Manager at Vivalon
Employee Spotlight – Michele Levine

 

Michele joined Vivalon on August 24, 2022, as our Healthy Aging Center Manager. Most recently, she worked at a community foundation as a Program Officer for a teen initiative overseeing two teen programs. One of the programs was a youth philanthropy group, and the other was a leadership program partnering with a city in Israel to offer an exchange program for high school students, in which students from the U.S. program would go to Israel, and one Israel student would come and visit the US.
As an adult, Michele has lived all across the United States, including New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, Portland, Minneapolis, and Madison, and currently, she lives in Oakland.

 

Learn a little more about Michele:
What do you enjoy most about working at Vivalon?
I enjoy serving the population and the mission we are driven by. I also love the people I work with.
Who is your hero?
My parents because they are wonderful, and they always put their children first. They show a lot of love to their kids. They both worked service jobs as a teacher, and my dad later moved into politics.
What brought you to Vivalon?
I was looking to work in a community center setting with older adults. I worked with teens in a community center setting and wanted to shift from teens and families to older adults.
What is your favorite movie as a child?
“Hoosiers” is a basketball film about an underdog team winning the state championship.
What is your favorite family vacation?
I grew up in Minnesota, where the winters were very cold. So my family and I would go to Miami Beach for two weeks in the winter to get away from the Minnesota winter.
What would you change about yourself if you could?
To be less hard on me and to be easier going.
What makes you unique?
I grew up in Minnesota.
What are some random fun facts about you?
My father was a politician. I was a three-sport Varsity player and received 10 letters.
What is something you want to learn or wish you were better at?
I would like to learn any new language regardless of language.
What is your favorite place on earth?
Either the beach or a redwood forest.
Who are the special people in your life?
My family and friends.
Who is your favorite celebrity?
Michele Obama and Lizzo.
Would you rather be able to teleport or time control?
I would teleport because I can go wherever I want when I want.
