About the Artist

Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen was known for bringing nature, fairy tales and folklore to life through his work. The Water Sprite features the Nøkken, a mythical water spirit said to lure people into lakes and streams. The peaceful landscape and creature’s glowing eyes create an eerie contrast that draws viewers into the scene.
